Photo Exhibit and Ministry Details

Jess and I had a great time helping out at a photo exhibit fundraiser that Servantworks put on this weekend! This was our first official involvement with our new missions agency and I have to say they did a great job! For those of you who did not see the Facebook post we put on about the show, let me give you some background to what went on. Servantworks had a photography and media project that they commissioned a local Aurora photographer to do for them. The purpose of this event was to develop a way that the public could become informed on the issues of prostitution in Bangkok and how Servantworks and The Well is trying to solve this problem. The show was a way to present this project for the first time. To say the least it was a awesome and informational show. Jess was able to help sell some of the jewelry that the girls in Thailand make as a form of alternative income. I was kind of the gopher doing all sorts of things such as making food for the guests,  setting up projectors and helping engage people with the photo exhibit.

Along with kicking off our official involvement with the ministry as well as kicking off this new photo exhibit, the Mangi's were also able to connect with the executive director of Servantworks. For us personally this was a great time as we could find out more specifics about our partnership with them. They were able to give us some great informational materials we can give people as well as tools to start fundraising. Speaking of fundraising, we were able to find out how much we should raise.  We will need $20,000 total for our 9 month stay in Thailand. We understand that sounds like a lot but remember that includes every cost we will have while there, including airfare. And it does not sound so bad when you break it up! That's about 100 people giving 20 bucks a month! So here we go! We love all of you and would love for you to be part of our ministry this way. We know you may have more questions and welcome any of them (though we may not always have answers).

If you would like to donate right now we would love to have your support! Click on this: DONATE
